The difference between servo motor and stepper motor

(1) different overload capacity

The overload capacity of AC servo motor is relatively strong, and the stepper motor is weak in this respect.

(2) speed response performance is different

The acceleration performance of AC servo system is better, and the acceleration response time of stepper motor is longer.


(3) The control method is different

The servo motor controls the rotation angle by controlling the length of the pulse time, and the stepper motor controls the rotation angle by controlling the number of pulses, and one pulse corresponds to a step angle.

(4) Different moment frequency characteristics

AC servo motor is a constant torque output, that is, within its rated speed, can output rated torque, above the rated speed is constant power output.

The torque frequency of the stepper motor output will slowly decrease as the speed increases.
